During your three-year apprenticeship as a management assistant in wholesale and foreign trade management (specializing in wholesale), you will become an expert in our processes.

Apprenticeship at a Glance.

Businessperson in Wholesale and Foreign Trade.

  • Duration of training: three years (shortening possible with appropriate performance).
  • Assignment in the purchasing/sales department at ABH-Nord GmbH.
  • Vocational school in part-time format (once or twice per week) or block instruction.
  • Subjects include: supporting business processes with digital tools, handling and financing foreign trade transactions, German, and economics and social studies.

What Does a Businessperson in Wholesale and Foreign Trade Do?

As a businessperson in wholesale and foreign trade, you are responsible for planning and monitoring purchasing, logistics, and sales processes and contributing to their optimization. You manage the flow of data and goods from order placement to delivery. In doing so, you use various procurement and distribution channels, particularly online channels, and handle electronic business processes. Monitoring and analyzing domestic and international markets, conducting price comparisons, and preparing offers are also part of your responsibilities. You order goods, negotiate delivery dates and terms, conclude transport contracts, track shipments, and manage payment transactions. You take on controlling tasks and implement target group-oriented marketing measures. Much of your work is carried out on the computer using specialized software.
