What you can expect.

Here’s What You Can Look Forward to:

  • Omnichannel retailing: You will learn how to list our products on major platforms such as eBay, Amazon, Google, Idealo, and Meta (Facebook).
  • Chatbot projects: We plan to integrate chatbots into our shop — one of the projects you will actively contribute to.
  • Juggling with data: You will manage figures and data in Excel and use digital document management systems (DMS), for example to document and manage sales statistics.
  • Messenger marketing: You will look behind the scenes of Facebook and Instagram, create marketing campaigns, and analyze the resulting data.
  • Mobile payment: You will integrate and manage new digital payment systems in our shop, including new features from PayPal, Klarna, and others.
  • Shop system: You will get to know our Shopware system and maintain it with relevant data.
  • Search engine optimization (SEO): Optimizing for Google and Bing will also be part of your training.
  • Software behind the scenes: You will work with warehouse management systems (WMS) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems to manage inventory, monitor stock levels, and control incoming and outgoing goods flows.
What we expect.

Your Skills:

  • You have obtained at least an intermediate secondary school certificate, technical college entrance qualification, or high school diploma.
  • You have good computer skills; Windows and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) hold no fears for you — and if they do, we will help you overcome them.
  • You demonstrate customer focus, strong communication skills, and a willingness to engage, for example when handling customer inquiries and communicating with target groups — because the customer is king.
  • You have a commercial mindset, as you will contribute to product range planning, use online marketing tools, and measure advertising success.
  • You are flexible and able to handle frequently changing tasks and work situations, as the role is diverse and far from monotonous.
  • You are careful and responsible when handling customer data and compiling information about products and services.

Apprenticeship at a Glance.

E-Commerce Salesperson.

  • Duration of training: three years (shortening possible with appropriate performance).
  • Assignment in the e-commerce, marketing, order processing, and IT departments at ABH-Nord GmbH.
  • Vocational school in part-time format (twice per week in the first year, once per week thereafter).
  • Subjects include: business processes and customer communication in e-commerce, data processing, and commercial management and control.

What Does an E-Commerce Salesperson Do?

As an e-commerce salesperson, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and optimizing online sales strategies. You work closely with other departments such as marketing, sales, and IT to ensure that the company’s e-commerce platform operates smoothly and is used effectively. In this role, you help identify market trends and customer needs to improve the overall shopping experience. You develop online marketing strategies to increase website traffic and boost conversion rates. You are responsible for maintaining and updating product data and website content, conducting A/B tests, and analyzing the results to optimize the site. In addition, you manage orders, payments, and returns to ensure timely delivery, and you monitor and report on key performance indicators such as sales figures, conversion rates, and customer reviews.
