Your Questions – FAQ.
Frequently asked questions about our services and battery technology.
Battery technology
Usually, lithium-ion cells (e.g., 18650, 21700, prismatic, or pouch cells) are used, but LiFePO4, NiMH, or lead-gel may also be chosen depending on the requirements. The selection depends on the customer project’s capacity, voltage, service life, weight, and safety requirements.
Yes. Custom assembly to customer specifications is standard for us. Voltage, capacity, cell chemistry, housing design, connectors, safety features, and communication interfaces (e.g., SMBus, CAN) can all be tailored.
A BMS is essential. It protects the battery pack against overcharging, deep discharge, short circuits, and overtemperature, and it ensures cell balancing. Without a BMS, modern battery packs are neither safe nor durable.
It depends on cell quality, charge/discharge behavior, thermal management, and maintenance. High-quality Li-ion batteries typically achieve 500–2,000 charge cycles. A professionally assembled pack with an integrated BMS can operate reliably for several years.
For industrial applications, UN38.3, CE, IEC 62133, or UL2054 are relevant standards. Reputable suppliers perform functional tests, safety tests, and, if required, environmental/climate tests before delivery. For transport, UN38.3 certification is required.
