“Our intensive care and patient transport vehicles are equipped with extensive technology, some of which is vital, so a reliable power supply from the vehicle batteries is of great importance here,” said Malte Beth, Team Assistant Transport Logistics at the UKSH service company. “In this respect, we are very happy and grateful for this donation.”
“In times of crisis, we want to help locally where it is needed most and find a way to come closer together despite social distancing,” said Ann-Christine Sebesteny, Marketing Manager of Batterie24.de. This intention sparked the idea of contacting UKSH. The managing directors Jörg Kieback and Patrick Buttig unanimously decided: “We want to donate where it helps the people affected and protects our health.
The company ABH-Nord, based in Flintbek, operates the online platform Batterie24.de. In detail, the donation in kind to the UKSH Friends and Sponsors Association for the benefit of the UKSH subsidiary Service Stern Nord comprised twelve Varta batteries for installation in Ford Transit ambulances, six Varta batteries for Mercedes Benz Sprinter intensive care transport vehicles and six Varta batteries for Mercedes Benz Atego material transport trucks.
